In most cases the skimmer of a swimming pool is constructed in a way that has the main drain connected to it. This means that you cannot directly draw suction from your main drain to your pump. If you have a leaking skimmer then you cannot circulate your pool properly. This will cause your motor and finish to become damaged and will cost you much in water and chemicals. The only thing you can do is replace the skimmer. In these pictures you are seeing a pool leak repaired by skimmer replacement and the pool water restored.
Like all objects, skimmers will have to be replaced or repaired at some time.
